How do I add a child seat, GPS or other extras?

Request them at booking. They are charged per day, and availability is a request rather than a guarantee.

Costs & charges

Extras are added during booking or at the counter and are almost always priced per day, so a two-week rental can make a child seat cost more than buying one.

  • Child and booster seats, priced by age or weight band and subject to local law.
  • Additional drivers.
  • GPS units, increasingly redundant if you have a phone mount and offline maps.
  • Snow chains or winter tyres, mandatory in some regions in season.
  • Cross-border or one-way authorisation, which is paperwork rather than equipment.

Requested is not the same as reserved

At many suppliers, extras are subject to availability on the day even when you have paid. If a child seat is non-negotiable for your trip, call the branch to confirm stock rather than relying on the booking alone.

Rental terms differ by supplier, country and vehicle class. This article describes what usually applies — the agreement you sign at the counter is what governs your rental, so read it before signing.
