Anyone who drives must be listed on the agreement and must present their own licence at the counter. This is not administrative box-ticking: if an unlisted person is driving during an incident, suppliers routinely treat the damage waiver as void and pursue the full cost.
- Additional drivers are usually charged per day, though some rates or loyalty tiers include one.
- Every additional driver must meet the same age and licence-held requirements as the main driver.
- They need to be present at pickup with their licence — they cannot be added in absentia at most suppliers.
- In some countries a spouse or civil partner is included automatically. Confirm rather than assume.
